New Membership

Thank you for being such an essential part of the VLE family!
VLE always getting better

New membership for VLE

Please Note: The new membership system, along with all associated discounts, vouchers, free club entries, and member perks, will officially come into effect on September 7th, 2026. You can secure your membership today to be fully prepared for the launch!

Since 2007, Valencia Language Exchange (VLE) has been bringing people together through languages as a free, community-driven space built on respect, culture, and meaningful connections. To keep our events safe, high-quality, and sustainable, we are moving to a membership model.

Here is why:

  • Protect Community Quality: Ensures our events remain safe, welcoming spaces for people who genuinely want to practice languages and make real connections.

  • Shift in Public Funding: Public subsidies we previously relied on have been redirected to local emergencies relief, requiring us to become self-sustaining.

  • Sustain Top Venues & Staff: Covers the rising operational costs of securing Valencia’s best rooftop locations and organizing weekly events.

  • Giving Back to You: This is not for profit, it is for sustainability. That is why every membership includes €4+ in vouchers to give value straight back to our members!

Thank you for helping us keep the VLE family growing strong!

VLE Membership – Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a membership, and can I try VLE first?

No, membership is completely optional. If you just want to try VLE or attend occasionally, you can simply drop in and pay €1 per regular Language Exchange when you arrive. If you decide to become a member, memberships are available online only.

When does the new membership system start?

The new VLE membership system and its benefits officially start on September 7, 2026. If you had an old VLE membership, it is no longer valid. You’ll need to create a new VLE account and choose your new membership plan.

What does my membership include?

It depends on the membership plan you choose, but all VLE members get free, unlimited access to our regular Language Exchanges. Depending on your plan, you also receive VLE vouchers, trip discounts, nightlife benefits and other perks.

What’s the difference between the 3-month and 1-year membership?

Both memberships include unlimited Language Exchanges and €4 in VLE vouchers. The main difference is the membership duration: you can choose a 3-month membership if you want a shorter commitment, or a 1-year membership if you plan to stay active with VLE throughout the year.

Which membership is right for me?

It depends on how often you plan to attend VLE events.

  • Just want to try VLE or come occasionally? You can simply pay €1 per regular Language Exchange without a membership.
  • Attend regularly? The 3-month or 1-year membership may offer better value.
  • Love trips, parties and paid VLE activities? VIP is designed for you, with additional discounts and benefits.

What makes VIP different from the 1-year membership?

VIP includes everything in the 1-year membership, plus €2 off eligible trips, discounts on paid activities and free entry to participating nightlife events before the cutoff time.

Can I share my membership?

No. Your VLE membership is personal and cannot be shared. However, VIP members can use their eligible trip vouchers when booking for other people, so you can bring a friend with you on a trip.

How do I enter VLE events as a member?

Save your personal VLE QR code on your phone and scan it when you arrive at the event.

Do VIP members get free entry to VLE club nights?

Yes! VIP members get free entry to official Saturday nightlife events at participating clubs, including L’Umbracle, MYA, Akuarela, Indiana and Mucho, when they enter before the applicable cutoff time. If you arrive after the cutoff time, the VIP free-entry benefit no longer applies and the standard door fee will apply. Entry is always subject to the club’s admission policies and right of admission.

Why is VLE introducing memberships and member profiles?

The new membership system helps VLE stay sustainable while keeping our events high-quality, safe and well-organised. Member profiles also allow us to verify members and help create a safe, respectful community focused on genuine language exchange and international connections.
