Hello hikers! The Mascarat Canyon is a ravine between the Sierras de Bernia and Toix that separates the Serra de Bernia from Morro de Toix, Altea from Calpe, and Marina Baixa from Marina Alta.
A route of medium-high level, where we can appreciate the strength of Mother Nature, the force of water, where the water created the ravine to reach the sea.
This barrier was a problem for communication between Marina Baixa and Marina Alta for generations until the late nineteenth century engineers built a monumental bridge that finally allowed circulation.
Program:
9:00 Departure
We meet at 8:45 on Avenida Aragon 31 (In front of Mestalla), the bus leaves at 9:00.
Arriving
We arrive at 10:30 and start hiking. You will have time to eat your lunch.
16:30 End of the hiking
After 16:30 we finish the hiking and we will go to Altea/Calpe for drinks etc.
18:30 Going back to Valencia
On the day Saturday 18/11/23 we will have an Optional activity of Bungee Jumping: What includes the hiking trail + Bungee Jumping (Puenting).

Description of the route
Difficulty level: medium-hard (you have to be in a good shape, positive slope)
Distance: 12 km
Elevation gain: + 516 meters
Total approximate time: 4h 30′
Time on the move: 3 hours
Food and drink: Bring food and drinks from home because we will walk a lot and we will not stop at any restaurant.
Suitable shoes: sports or mountain shoes, but please no slippers.
Clothes: swimwear, wear comfortable / sports clothing. Do not forget to bring a jacket because it might get cold.
