Trip to Cueva Tallada, Dénia, & Jávea

  • Discover the carved cave: a patrimonial jewel of Valencia!
  • One day trip
  • Meeting point: Mestalla, Valencia

Cueva Tallada, also known as the Carved Cave, is a fascinating archaeological site located in the province of Alicante, Spain. This cave holds significant historical and cultural importance.

The cave is about 75 metres wide and 15 metres high. It has 5 entrances through which the water of the ocean enters the cave.

From outside and inside the cave, you have a spectacular landscape. If the sea is calm you can go snorkeling and see a great variety of fish.

The hiking route to get to the caves takes one hour and borders the sea to the cave.

Arrival and start of the hike

When we arrive we will have a break. After the break according to our reservation of the caves we will start the hike.

Visit of the caves and Javea

After enjoying the cave (2 hours) we will go back to the bus and go to Javea where we will enjoy the beach, city or bars.

18:00 Heading back to Valencia

After a beautiful day, it is time to go back and head to bus to Valencia. We meet at the bus 15 minutes beforehand.

The cave gets its name from the intricate carvings that adorn its walls and ceilings. These carvings date back to the Bronze Age and revealed evidence of human occupation spanning several millennia, including artifacts from the Neolithic period. The cave’s strategic location, overlooking the sea and surrounded by rugged cliffs, likely made it an ideal shelter.

Dénia is a picturesque coastal town located in the province of Alicante, on the eastern coast of Spain. One of the most iconic landmarks in Denia is its castle, which sits atop a rocky promontory overlooking the town and the sea. Denia also boasts a stunning coastline with a series of beautiful beaches, ranging from sandy shores to rocky coves. Dénia is a city full of life, colours and Mediterranean joy. There are 30,000 inhabitants of different nationalities who have chosen to live there for its climate and beauty.
