San José Caves (Cuevas de San José)

In the heart of the Sierra de Espadan Natural Park flows the longest navigable underground river in Europe! The San José River gives birth to a unique natural cave called Caves of San José. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Caves of San José are among the most surprising natural spaces in the Valencian Community! In several parts of the cave, cave paintings from the prehistoric period known as the Upper Paleolithic have been discovered! Travel back in time by paddling the calm waters of the river and listening to the echo of the underground lagoon in this impressive landscape.
