Imagine riding a bike from the top of a hill to the bottom. It is a plain road and the level is easy/beginner.  You just have to know how to ride a bike.
The descent of the Ojos Negros Greenway is one of the most fun and easy activities for cycling in the Valencian Community.
We will start from Barracas, a village located at 1000 meters above sea level (we will pass between its giant mills!) to Navajas, famous for its large mansions and its waterfall “el Salto de la Novia“. On the way we will discover bridges, old stations, long tunnels, the beautiful Caudiel, and lots of nature… and all this by going downhill!
Cycling along this 42 km is tremendously fun due to its ease and slight slope throughout the journey, as it was a long mining train track that transported the coal from the mines of Teruel to the sea in Sagunto.
The route is linear, 42 km downhill by bike. We will start in Barracas, and finish in Navajas. The rent of the bicycles and insurance are included in the price. However if you want to bring your own bike, make sure you have a good one and insurance.
The Ojos Negros Greenway between Teruel and the Valencian coast is at the moment the longest Greenway in Spain. Because of its length – 160 km, it has been divided into two sections.
The Valley of the Palancia River is the setting where this stage on the Sierra Minera railroad takes place. From the high plateau of Barracas, at the foot of the Sierra de Javalambre, the Ojos Negro Greenway descends to the rich Valencian orchards on the shores of the Mediterranean.

Cherry festival

We will make a stop of about 1.5 hours at the Caudiel Cherry Festival. The festival usually takes place in June, when the cherries are at their peak of ripeness. For several days, the streets of Caudiel come alive with music, dancing and a festive atmosphere. Locals and visitors alike gather to celebrate the harvest of this delicious fruit. This festival is more than just a gastronomic celebration, it is an immersive cultural experience in the heart of rural Spain. Whether you’re a cherry lover, curious about the local culture, or looking for a scenic getaway, this festival is sure to please.
