The Cruz de Hierro stands as a white-painted cross positioned at the summit of La Creu de Ferro in the Valencian territory of La Plana Baixa. Commencing from the town of La Vilavella, the hiking route winds through the foothills of the Sierra de Espadán, ultimately reaching the elevated point of La Creu de Ferro at 537 meters above sea level.
The Sierra de Espadán, a natural expanse within the Valencian Community, is renowned for its towering forests and abundant cork oak trees, rendering it an ideal destination for embarking on thrilling adventures.
During the hike, you’ll traverse historic relics like trenches and remnants dating back to the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939. The trail meanders amidst rocky terrain and substantial rodeno stone formations, offering breathtaking vistas along the way, culminating at the Cruz de Hierro.
