Take a beautiful hike or feel an adrenaline rush with one of our adventurous activities, like rafting or kayaking. Montanejos is one of the best day-trip destinations in the Valencian Community, perfect for swimming and relaxing all year round.

There is a local legend that the Moorish king, Abu Zeit, built these baths so that the queens could enjoy them and never lose their beauty.

What to Expect on the Montanejos Excursion

Montanejos is a full-day nature adventure. You can relax by the blue lagoon or take part in activities such as hiking, rafting, or kayaking. Along the way, you’ll meet other participants, practice languages, and share the adventure with people from all over the world.

After the activities, you can visit the charming village of Montanejos or enjoy a snack and a drink by the river at a local chiringuito (snack bar).

Salto de la Novia 🌊

Departure from Valencia

We meet at 08:15 in front of Mestalla (Avenida de Argon, 31).

Arrival in Montanejos

We arrive around 11:00 and We start our optional activities. Who does not want activity can go to lake to relax.

Next: We will separate groups for different activities. Whoever has chosen Kayak/Rafting goes with the sports company to do their chosen activity. And whoever wants to go hiking comes with us and the rest stay on the river beaches enjoying nature.

After activities: After having finished with the activities, we returned to the lake / River beach where we will bathe, we will have a picnic.

15:00 Salto de la Novia

At 15:00 we’re going to see Salto de la Novia (optional).

18:00 Heading back to Valencia

We will meet at the bus at 18:00 to head back to Valencia.

Montanejos + Activities

Montanejos is a gem of the Valencian Community, where adventure lovers can find a wonderful place to experience something fascinating. The crystal-clear colors of its waters allow for more than just swimming and relaxing. The hiking route that crosses the mountain offers stunning panoramic views of the town, the Mijares River, and “El Chorro,” a spillway with a capacity of 41,000 liters per second. The sunny shores are also the perfect spot for those who prefer to simply relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Other activities are also available for adventure and adrenaline enthusiasts.

Optional Activities:

Montanejos only: For those who just want to enjoy the lake beaches and lose themselves in nature.
Hiking (Montanejos + Hiking): We will take a hiking route through the mountain. The route is approximately 9 km with a medium level of difficulty. The activity lasts 3 hours.
Kayaking (Montanejos + Kayaking): Kayak activity in crystal-clear waters with experts (the kayak is paid separately to the company). The activity lasts 3 hours.
Rafting (Montanejos + Rafting): For rapid lovers, the rafting activity lasts approximately 3 hours and includes a level II course (rafting is paid separately to the company). The activity lasts 3 hours.

Hiking

Route with beautiful views of the canyons, the valley & and the Mijares River.

We will visit the Black cave and enjoy a powerfull imprissive waterspout throwing 41,000 litres per second.

And later on we will enjoy the hot springs and have a picnic.

Kayaking

Kayak (Canoa) in the calm water of Arenoso reservoir of Montanejos, abeautiful place of natural beauty. After the activity we will enjoy the hot springs, have a picnic.

This activity is made in collaboration with an adventure sports company and includes insurance, instructors and all needed material for the activity, such vests and helmets.

Rafting

An activity full of adrenaline in the rapids of the Mijares river to live an unforgettable day.

The activity is organized in collaboration with an experienced adventure sport company from Montanejos, with qualified guides and all the needed material.

It is class II level of rafting. It is not necessary to have previous experience, but you should be physically fit and know how to swim.

Equipment (wetsuit, vest, paddle, helmet, boat), insurance and photos are included in the price.

Do I need to be in good shape to do the hiking route?

Yes, it is necessary to be in good physical condition to do the hiking route.

What is the difficulty level of the hiking route?

You can find all the information related to the route in the “Route description” section above (Distance, difficulty, map, time, etc.).

What do I need to do the route?

You can check the “What to bring” and “Route description” sections, where everything you need for the excursion will be clearly mentioned. You will also receive an email after booking with detailed information.

Do I need to know how to use the map?

It’s not necessary to know how to use the map, as the mountain excursions include a professional mountain guide. However, if you do know, it’s always recommended.

How can you book the trip?

You can book on the website or at our office in Plaza Honduras, 26 from 09:30 to 14:30.

Do I have to book in advance or can I pay on the day of travel?

Yes, it is necessary to book in advance, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on that day.

What are the cancellation policies?

Up to one week before the event: 100% refund, either in cash or as a credit voucher, based on your preference.
From one week to 72 hours before: 100% refund only as a credit voucher.
Less than 72 hours before: No refunds.
In case of a medical emergency or force majeure (with valid proof), or due to weather conditions, the event will be rescheduled, or the credit voucher will be issued for use within one year.

Proof of emergency must be submitted before the event. No refunds after the event.

Where does the bus leave from?

Normally our buses leave from Avenida Aragón 31 (Mestalla). However, after booking, you will receive all the details with the ticket by email (please check your spam folder in case you receive the email immediately after booking).
