Morella y Peñiscola, both have been chosen the two most beautiful towns in Spain, by the association Los pueblos más bonitos de España: Morella & Peñiscola.
Morella, a medieval city, surrounded by a 1500 metres high wall that give us the feeling of being inside an ancient building. Every corner has its charm and the views from Castle are awesome. Morella’s gastronomy is very well known, apart from famous charcuterie from Morella don’t forget to taste la SOPA MORELLANA (Morella soup) and get some sweets as for example “Flaons de Morella”, made with ricotta cheese and almonds.
Peñiscola, “City in the Sea“, is a mix of an Island and a peninsula. It is surrounded by water on three, which was the reason that Iberians, Romans, Carthaginians, Arabs, etc.. wanted to dominate the city.
One of the main attractions of the city is the castle, a marvellous middle age monument castle, constructed by Knights Templars on the top of the city. It is so impressive that Papa Luna has converted it into his residence.
When you are walking in the streets of Peñiscola, it seems like you are on a Greek island not to forget, Peñiscola is also famous for many movie/TV show locations, like Game of Thrones, El Cid, Chiringuito de Pepe etc.. When you are in Peñiscola you must try seafood paella or cañadillas.

09:00 Departure
Meeting time: 8:45, departure from Avenida Aragón 31 (in front of Mestalla)
11:00 Arrival in Morella
We will visit the city and go to see the castle.
13:00 On the way to Peñiscola
At 13:00 we will meet at the bus to go to Peñiscola. Then free time there to eat and dring something.
18:00 Back to Valencia
At 17:45 we meet to go back to Valencia.
Travel equipment: Backpack, comfortable shoes, a jacket because it can be cold, etc.
Food and drinks: Water and food. There are many restaurants there but we suggest to take your own food to not spend the extra money and to be flexible with the rest of the group.
