The Ponoig via ferrata, located in Polop, just 20 minutes from Benidorm, is one of the most spectacular in Alicante, offering a thrilling combination of vertical and aerial sections. The route is equipped mainly with metal steps, providing a challenging but rewarding climb.
What sets this via ferrata apart is its descent—unlike others that have a path or trail, here you’ll rappel down for an unforgettable experience. From the top of León Dormido, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
The Ponoig via ferrata is 230 meters long, with a K4 difficulty level, ideal for those with some experience but also suitable for beginners with us.
The route has two vertical sections, with closely spaced staples making the climb more impressive than difficult. It’s continuous, offering few resting spots, and provides a great sense of height without too many dynamic elements.
At the top, you’ll reach the Sleeping Lion, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Costa Blanca, including Altea, La Nucía, Callosa de Segura, and Benidorm.
The fun doesn’t stop there—the descent is by rappel, with two lines of 25 and 35 meters to finish off the adventure!
