Dream Trip : Galicia
Dream trip: Galicia
Info en Español
Feeling, passion, joy and art, history and legend represent Galicia… Everything that makes us dream, excites us and makes us marvel is Galicia.
Embraced by the sea…. Galicia is filled with Rias (estuaries), beaches and is also surrounded by high green mountains. Its Celtic and Romanesque art, its stone walls, its eclipsing Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Finisterre where the land ends, the crystalline beaches of the Cíes Islands, are some examples of the rich heritage that this paradise offers. And the best is its gastronomy, where the Galician traditions are reflected. Seafood such as “pulpo a feira”, mussels and barnacles and land products such as Padrón peppers, “lacón con grelos” (pork shoulder with turnip tops), empanadas (pies) and handmade cheeses have achieved great recognition. The most famous sweet is the “Tarta de Santiago” made from ground almonds. If we talk about wines, surely you are familiar with Ribeira Sacra or Albariño.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Place where the famous Camino de Santiago ends and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Santiago de Compostela captivates with its stone buildings, its narrow streets full of craft stores, its impressive Cathedral and its renowned gastronomy, such as the Tarta de Santiago. In addition to the Cathedral, we can find great historical buildings such as the Hostal dos Reis, the Casa do Cabido, the Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares or the Mercado de Abastos.
FINISTERRE
Could you imagine experiencing a sunset from where the earth was said to end? There are no words to describe it, so you will have to see it with your own eyes.
Not far from Santiago we find Finisterre, a cozy village full of legends. This humble place was considered the end of the earth, since from its viewpoints it is only possible to appreciate the immense Atlantic Ocean.
A CORUÑA
With a lot of history to tell in its ports, streets and historical monuments we find A Coruña, an ancient Celtic settlement. This city is home to an interesting Romanesque ensemble as well as colossal churches and squares; although its best treasure is the imposing Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse still in operation that has been of vital importance to the city and today is possibly the most famous lighthouse in Spain.
The Archaeological and Historical Museum, the Church of Santiago, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Palace of the Captaincy General or the promenade are some examples of the attractions of this city.
The city’s gastronomy is not lacking in fresh seafood either. Highlights include spider crab, scallops and clams. Empanadas, broths and “lacón con grelos” are the most demanded dishes in the restaurants of the area.
VIGO
Discover Vigo, a city in the south of Galicia that combines innovation and tradition in every corner. Strolling through its streets we can come across great monumental works such as the Medieval Bridge or the Pazo de San Roque.
Its beaches are bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, as the famous Playas Americas, a large and clean sandy area distinguished every year with Blue Flag, recognition that is awarded to this beautiful oasis for the quality of its waters and its services. It was from this beach that Christopher Columbus set sail to discover a new world.
Vigo also presents itself as a sea of flavors. Here you can taste the best seafood of the Ría de Vigo, the churrasco, the Galician empanada or the octopus á feira.
ISLA CIES
Located in the Estuary of Vigo (Ría de Vigo), the Cíes Islands are part of the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the Galician Atlantic Islands. It has beaches catalogued as the most beautiful in the world, such as Playa das Rodas or Playa de Nosa Señora, perfect for snorkeling.
Undoubtedly, on the islands it is also possible to taste traditional Galician cuisine and drink the famous wines of the Rías Baixas.
PONTEVEDRA
Capital of the Rías Baixas, here you can enjoy the taste of its delicious gastronomy and the good atmosphere of its streets.
Pontevedra has one of the most important and characteristic old towns in Galicia. Among its most outstanding buildings we have the impressive Church of San Francisco, the Basilica of Santa María la Mayor, the Sanctuary of the Pilgrim or the Museum of Pontevedra.
Easter, the Entroido and the parrot Ravachol, the Feira Franca and the Fiestas de la Virgen Peregrina fill the streets of the city with atmosphere and tradition, uniting its inhabitants in a festive environment.
Considered one of the best wines in the world, Albariño white wine is the perfect drink to pair the delicious seafood that you can taste in Pontevedra… Come and discover it!
ISLA DE AROUSA
In the heart of the Ría de Arousa (Pontevedra) we find the Illa de Arousa, a small municipality of 5000 inhabitants living in one of the most privileged places in Galicia.
This Natural Reserve has several places of interest such as the Punta Cabalo Lighthouse, the Areoso Islet, the Carreirón Natural Park or the viewpoint or Con do Forno, at the top of the islet. Surround yourself with beauty and tranquility in this natural oasis.
Our hotels
We have two of the best hotels. We will spend 2 nights in Santiago de Compostela at the 4* San Lazaro Hotel and the 1 night we will sleep in 3* Hotel BNB in Vigo. Both hotels are in the centre and breakfast is included
