Visit to the Aragonese Pyrenees

The Aragonese Pyrenees is a dream destination for nature lovers and outdoor activities. With its breathtaking natural beauty, National Parks, unique landscapes and charming villages, it offers a wide variety of landscapes.
On this trip, you will have the opportunity to enjoy various adventure activities. You can go hiking in the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, explore ravines and waterfalls, climb peaks and venture on exciting via ferratas. You can also delight yourself with the local gastronomy and discover the charms of the picturesque Aragonese villages.
In addition, you will have the option of optional activities, such as rafting on the Esra River, zip-lining in the Tena Valley, walking along impressive footbridges and enjoying panoramic views from strategic viewpoints.
Most of the Pyrenees is a World Heritage Site for the region’s rich history, culture, Romanesque churches and medieval villages.
Your accommodation will be in a charming 4 star hotel located in Formigal, overlooking the valley. There you will be able to rest and relax after your daily adventures.

Itinerary

Day 1: Thursday 24/07 at 14:00 Valencia-Pyrenees

We will leave at 14:00 to the Pyrenees. We go straight to our hotel where we check in and have group dinner (Optional) tomake new friends with whom we will spend next 4 days.

Day 2: Friday 25/07 09:00 National Park- Hike

This day we go to the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido and you have 2 options:

  • Option 1 would be for the more adventurous: Horse tail route “Senda de cazzadores” (Medium high level) (With a guide)
  • Option 2. would be for those who want to take the day with more relax: Visit the park, there are several routes and then travel to the village of Torla Ordesa (Without guide). This is family trail you will noot loose 🙂 
After the trail if we have time (Normally yes) we will go to Sallent de Gallego that is on our way back to hotel.

Day 3: Saturday 26/07 09:00 Optional Activities Day

It would be the day of optional activities or visit villages.

  • We will have Morning activities
    Rafting in Pyrnees or Visit Ainsa & Boltaña
  • Evening activities:
    Fastest zipline in Europe or Visit Panticosa with it walkways(Optional).

Day 4: Sunday 27/07 Highest train in Europe French pyrenees - Valencia

We will visit the French Pyrenees to experience the highest mountain train in Europe, ending at the stunning lakes. After this unforgettable adventure, filled with incredible memories, we will begin our journey back to Valencia.

Sallent de gallego y Lanuza 

Discover two of the most beautiful villages in the Pyrenees, surrounded by spectacular scenery and fascinating monuments in its historic center. On the one hand, we find the charming village known as the Spanish ski mecca, where its 16th century Gothic church and medieval bridge stand out. On the other hand, we have Lanuza, famous for its impressive reservoir and for hosting the renowned Pirineo Sur festival. This village, which was completely uninhabited in the 70s, has become the epicenter of the largest festival in the Pyrenees during the month of July. Discover the magic of these two villages and immerse yourself in their historical and natural charm.

Ainsa

Ainsa, one of the most charming and picturesque villages in the Pyrenees, will transport you to a fairy tale. Located on a prominent promontory, this place captivates with its cobbled streets, old houses and an imposing stone castle dating back to the 11th century. The castle of Ainsa, with its great historical importance since the Middle Ages, has witnessed the signing of political pacts, has suffered various dominations and has become a symbol of the region. Another point of fascination in the village is the church of Santa María, located in the main square, which stands out for its architecture and rich history. Panticosa & Pasarelas de Panticosa 

Panticosa, considered the true heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, is a charming village with less than 1,000 inhabitants that will give you an authentic image of popular Pyrenean architecture. Here, stone and wood houses predominate, with roofs covered with black slate slabs. Immerse yourself in its cozy atmosphere and let yourself be seduced by its unique charm.

Walkway Pasarelas de Panticosa 

If you want to capture the best views of the Tena Valley, Panticosa and Peña Telera while walking on the water of the Caldarés River, you can’t miss this exciting hanging walk. In addition to the unique experience, you will have the opportunity to visit the old bunkers of the P Line, a set of defensive constructions built in the 40’s and 50’s. A perfect combination of adventure and history in one place!

Laruns Tren de Artouste (Highest Train in Europe) (Activdad opcional)

Embark on an unforgettable adventure in the French Pyrenees aboard the famous “Artouste Train”, considered the highest train in Europe. Day 3 Morning: Rafting  in Ainsa: (Cost 45€)

Imagine yourself rafting on the Esra River in the Pyrenees, the river that flows down from Monte Perdido and passes through the Pineta Valley. An unforgettable experience, an activity that will last almost 4 hours.
or visit the Villages: Ainsa & Boltaña. 

Day 3 Evening:  Europe´s Fastest Zip Line in Tena Valley: (Cost 22€)
Experience speeds of up to 120 km/h while gliding down the Tena Valley with spectacular views. Feel the adrenaline and live an unforgettable adventure! Optional activity (22 €).
Or visit the village Panticosa with Panticosa Walkways (Optional) 

Day 3: Panticosa Walkways: (Cost 5€)
Cross 160 meters above water on walkways offering the best views of Panticosa and its surrounding mountains, including the O Calvé viewpoint. A sensation of walking in the air—like flying, I’d say! Enjoy this optional activity on the afternoon of Day 3 for just 5 €.
