Looking for a fun and different way to celebrate Halloween in the Valencian Community? Join us for a unique Halloween hiking adventure along the stunning Serpis Greenway, a former railway line running between Villalonga and Lorcha.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery and nature, the trail follows the Serpis River through a lush riverside forest. Along the way, we’ll discover impressive stone tunnels, historic bridges, and the spectacular Barranc de l’Infern, a protected natural area known for its breathtaking landscapes.

Put on your Halloween costume, bring your sense of adventure, and get ready for a memorable day in nature with Valencia Language Exchange!

Dressing up is a must for everyone joining the event. Get creative, get spooky, and show off your most original Halloween look as we hit the trail.

Departure from Valencia

We’ll meet in front of Mestalla Stadium (Avenida de Aragón, 31) 15 minutes before departure.

Arrival to Lorcha and start hiking

The journey will take 1h 30 minutes approximately. 30 minutes break and we will start the trail. We will have several breaks for lunch, refreshments and taking photos.
 
 

End of the route and a Break

Once we finish the route, we will have free time to take some drinks together.
 

Prize Ceremony

Once the coordinators have made their decision, we’ll announce the winners and hand out the prizes.

Coming back home

After the break we will start coming back to Valencia.
 
Highlights Along the Route
  • Fábrica del Infierno: Discover this historic hydroelectric power station, remarkably well preserved in the heart of the route.
  • El Racó del Duc: A stunning natural setting and one of the most beautiful protected areas in the Valencian Community.
  • A Journey Through History: Hike along the old railway line once known as the “Englishmen’s Railway,” which connected Alcoy and Gandia.

Ruta: The route is linear, 13 kilometers long, and easy difficulty.

We will start hiking in L’Orxa (Lorcha) and finish in Villalonga, Another village 13 km away from the start point.

A lovely beautiful and ecological hiking trails of 4-5 hours approximately, Further on, it joins that of the Serpis River, the largest in the province of Alicante and cross Barranc de l’Infern, declared a protected landscape, several kilometers later, we will arrive at the area known as “El Racó del Duc”, a natural area of great beauty, rated among the best in the Valencian Community where we also find La Fábrica del Infierno, which used the river water to move the generators.

Is it necessary to wear a costume for the Halloween excursion?

Halloween is the theme of this hiking trip. A costume is required if you would like to take part in the costume contest and have a chance to win a prize.

How difficult is the Serpis Greenway route?

The route is mostly flat and easy to walk, following the old railway line. It’s ideal for enjoying the scenery, walking through tunnels, and taking photos of the Fábrica del Infierno, without requiring a high level of fitness.

How can I book the excursion?

You can book your place through our website or in person at our office at Plaza Honduras, 26, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Do I need to book in advance, or can I pay on the day of the excursion?

Yes, advance booking is required, as we cannot guarantee that there will be places available on the day.

Where does the bus depart from?

Our buses usually depart from Avenida de Aragón, 31 (Mestalla). However, once you’ve booked, you’ll receive all the departure details with your ticket by email. If you don’t see the email shortly after booking, please check your spam or junk folder.
