Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the most important festival in Alcoy, declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest since 1980. This festival commemorates the historic battle between Christians and Muslims that took place in 1276. According to legend, Saint George, the patron saint of Alcoy, helped the Christians win the battle. Since then, Alcoy has held this festival every year in his honor.

Where you will enjoy two biggest events : The first Diana and the Entrance of Christians, and In the afternoon is the time of the Entrance of Moors, with the moorish parade. To feel the atmosphere that is recreated in the city on the day of the Entrada is an unforgettable experience.
The festival Moros & Cristianos is also known as the “Festival Trilogy” because the most important events are celebrated during three days. The first day, in the morning is the Christian Army Entrance, and in afternoon it is the turn of the Muslim Entrance.
On the second day, is the Saint George’s Day (Patron od the city) with parades of Moorish and Christian bands. And the third day is the Battle of the Arcabucería, A battle between Muslims and Christians for the capture of the City Castle. Tthe center of Alcoy is filled with arquebuses and gunpowder.
