The Guadalaviar River originates in the Sierra de Albarracín mountains from the confluence of the rivers Guadalaviar and Guadalaviar de Orihuela. Along its course, the Guadalaviar passes through or near several towns and cities, including Albarracín, Teruel eventually reaching Valencia, where it merges with the Júcar River.
Historically the river has been a key tool for irrigation and agriculture in the region. The river supports diverse flora and fauna typical of the Mediterranean region.
The natural beauty of the Guadalaviar River and its surroundings attracts a lot of adventurous travellers and locals interested in nature, hiking and outdoor activities.
The route goes from the banks of the Guadalajara river to a reservoir of dam. The highlights of the route are the waterfalls, rock formations, caves and water jets. The trees near the route create a natural oasis.
